How Shaquille O'Neal Knows Kobe Bryant Respected Him

On the basketball court, Shaquille O'Neal and Kobe Bryant were a dominant duo, helping the Los Angeles Lakers win three consecutive NBA titles. Off the court, however, there was palpable tension between the two. Nevertheless, Shaq says he doesn't doubt that Kobe respected him just as much as he respected Kobe.

"We both definitely respect each other," Shaq says. "When you've got two alpha males going at it, you're not going to always get along. ... You don't have to like a person, but you've got to respect them."

Here, Shaq looks back at how one particular moment in Game 7 of the 2000 NBA Western Conference Finals showed him that Kobe respected him, which was all that mattered.
